The Ohio State Airport and the Center for Aviation Studies are excited to announce the unveiling of Barnstormer Brutus at the airport's Open House and Don Scott Trot: a 5K on the Runway on September 17. Brutus's move to the airport is a precursor for next year's anniversary celebrations: the airport's 75th anniversary (1942-2014) and Ohio State Aviation's 100th anniversary (1917-2017).

Barnstormer Brutus is one of the life-size statues that were created as part of the “Brutus on Parade” campaign. The campaign was established to raise funds for the renovation of the William Oxley Thompson Memorial Library which was completed in 2009. Forty Brutus statues, each 6’2” tall and weighing 150 pounds, were artistically and creatively decorated by local artists, and sponsored by businesses and individuals. A total of 37 statues are on display on the Ohio State campus. Ohio Staters, Inc. has created a map identifying locations of the life-size Brutus statues.
